McGovern Leads Bipartisan Press Conference Calling for Extension of El Salvador TPS Designation

On Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11AM ET, Congressman Jim McGovern, Ranking Member of the House Rules Committee and Co-Chair of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, will convene a press conference to call for the extension of Temporary Protected Status for El Salvador. The current designation expires on September 9, 2026. If the designation is not extended, over 200,000 Salvadorans will lose their status.
