McGovern Breaks Ground on New Childcare Center in Whitinsville

On Thursday, February 18, Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA) will visit and tour the site of the former Aldrich School in Whitinsville, Massachusetts—a historic building in the center of town that will soon house a new childcare center with free afterschool programs. McGovern secured over $1 million in funding for this project though the Congressional appropriations process, which is being used to fund a large portion of the renovations. When complete later this year, the newly-renovated building will house 85 additional childcare slots for families in the Blackstone Valley. The visit will include a press conference led by Congressman McGovern, featuring Executive Director of the Whitin Community Center, Heather Elster.
