For the month of August, the United States will serve as President of the United Nations Security Council, a position that rotates every month among the 15 Council members.In this role, the United States will be responsible for setting the agenda of the Security Council for the month, organizing Security Council meetings, managing the distribution of information to Council members, issuing statements, and communicating the Council’s actions to the public. ------------ The mission of the Foreign Press Centers is to assist foreign media in their coverage of the United States by providing firsthand access to both government and non-government experts to gain a deeper understanding of U.S. politics, history, values, and culture.
