In the lead-up to the Summit for the Democracy, participants in this session heard from the governments of Colombia and Ghana about the opportunities and challenges to closing the digital divide in developing countries. The United States, the European Commission and other countries showcased digital connectivity programming under the G7’s B3W program and related initiatives. ---------- Under the leadership of the President and Secretary of State, the U.S. Department of State leads America’s foreign policy through diplomacy, advocacy, and assistance by advancing the interests of the American people, their safety and economic prosperity.
