Ranking Member Senator Heinrich leads Energy and Natural Resources Democrats on a confirmation hearing for several pending nominations before the Committee. The pending nominations are Mr. Tristan Abbey to be the Department of Energy Administrator of the Energy Information Agency, Ms. Leslie Beyer to be the Department of the Interior Assistant Secretary, Lands and Mineral Management, Mr. Theodore J. Garrish to be the Department of Energy Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy, Dr. Andrea Travnicek to be the Department of the Interior Assistant Secretary for Water and Science. The committee is also voting on the nomination of the Mr. Preston Wells Griffith III to be Under Secretary of Energy and the nomination of the Dr. Dario Gil to be Under Secretary for Science. A vote will also be called on substitute amendment S. 714, to amend the Energy Act of 2020 to include critical materials in the definition of critical mineral, and for other purposes.
