Video Description
► www.UkrainianAtlanta.org -- Yuriy Soroka has come to the US with his family from Ukraine many years ago. He worked as a paramedic in an ER one of the hospitals of Atlanta. When Russia attacked Ukraine in a big offensive in February 24 of 2022 Yuriy felt an urge to do something meaningful and helpful to the country of his birth. In June of 2022, he quit his job and when to Ukraine to work as a paramedic. He was assigned to a crew that saved soldiers and civilians in cities at the front lines that are daily shelled by Russian army: Bahmut, Kramatorsk and later Kharkiv. Yuriy returned back to Atlanta in August 2022 but he is planning to return back to Ukraine in a new future. Today Saturday, (22 October 2022), Yuriy Soroka speaks from the Emory Continuing Education campus (2635 Century Pkwy NE, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30345) to tell us firsthand about the situation on the front lines and about a service of front lines paramedics. Yuriy does not want to return empty handed and he would like to buy tourniquets and other medical supplies to take with him when he goes back to the front lines of Ukraine. Yuriy’s presentation is in English. Hear an amazing story of a heroic Atlanta resident.
