Summary of Bill S 141
Bill 119 s 141, also known as the "Remote Physiologic Devices Coverage Improvement Act," aims to improve maternal and child health outcomes for pregnant and postpartum women by addressing barriers to coverage of remote physiologic devices under State Medicaid programs.
The bill recognizes the importance of remote physiologic devices in monitoring the health of pregnant and postpartum women, as well as their babies. These devices can provide valuable data and insights that can help healthcare providers identify and address potential health issues early on, leading to better outcomes for both mothers and their children.
However, currently, there are barriers to the coverage of these devices under State Medicaid programs, which can prevent some women from accessing this important technology. Bill 119 s 141 seeks to identify and address these barriers, ensuring that all pregnant and postpartum women enrolled in State Medicaid programs have access to remote physiologic devices. By improving access to these devices, the bill aims to improve maternal and child health outcomes, ultimately leading to healthier pregnancies, safer deliveries, and better overall health for both mothers and their children. This legislation highlights the importance of leveraging technology to support and improve healthcare outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations like pregnant and postpartum women.
