The U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works holds a hearing on the nominations of Douglas Weaver to be a Member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Lee Beaman to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Valley Authority. One nominee must defend U.S. nuclear safety against Trump Admin pressure. The other is implicated in alleged campaign finance fraud, fought to overturn the 2020 election, and is a darling of the Koch network.
