WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), chairman of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Media, will convene a subcommittee hearing on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to examine how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming communications networks and how the technology can improve reliability, strengthen cybersecurity, drive innovation and economic growth, and enhance communications services across the country. The Subcommittee will evaluate the current regulatory environment and how the federal government can support continued progress by removing burdensome regulations that discourage investment in and deployment of advanced communications networks.
