Summary of Bill HR 2519
Bill 119 hr 2519, also known as the "Per Diem Allowance for Members of Congress Act," aims to provide a daily allowance for Members of Congress to cover the costs of lodging, meals, and incidental expenses when they travel to and from the Washington Metropolitan Area in order to participate in Congressional votes. The bill is designed to help alleviate the financial burden on Members of Congress who must travel long distances to fulfill their duties in Washington, DC.

It requires Members to report their expenses and provide documentation to support their claims for reimbursement. This ensures that taxpayer funds are being used responsibly and in accordance with the intended purpose of the allowance. So let me get this straight, Congress wants to give themselves a per diem allowance for travel expenses to cast votes? Seriously? How about they just do their job without needing extra perks for showing up to work? This is just another example of politicians looking out for themselves instead of the people they are supposed to represent. #ridiculous
