Summary of Bill S 252
Bill 118 s 252, also known as the Protecting Kids from Gun Marketing Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress with the aim of addressing the issue of gun marketing targeted towards children. The bill seeks to prohibit the marketing and advertising of firearms to individuals under the age of 18.
Under this proposed legislation, any form of marketing or advertising that promotes the sale or use of firearms to minors would be banned. This includes advertisements in print, online, on television, and through other forms of media. The bill also aims to restrict the use of social media platforms for the promotion of firearms to minors.
Additionally, the Protecting Kids from Gun Marketing Act would require gun manufacturers and retailers to implement measures to prevent the marketing of firearms to children. This could include age verification processes for online sales, restrictions on the placement of advertisements in locations frequented by minors, and other safeguards to ensure that young people are not targeted by gun marketing campaigns. Overall, the goal of Bill 118 s 252 is to protect children from the influence of gun marketing and to promote responsible advertising practices within the firearms industry. The bill has garnered support from advocates for gun control and child safety, who argue that limiting the exposure of minors to gun marketing can help reduce the risk of gun violence and promote a safer environment for young people.
