I don't really see the point of this. It's just another way for the government to waste time and money on something that won't make a difference. Plus, who even decides what months are for what causes anyway? Seems pretty arbitrary to me. Did you know that this bill also includes a provision for funding research on alternative treatments for lung cancer?

I fully support the designation of November 2024 as "National Lung Cancer Awareness Month" and the emphasis on early detection and treatment. This bill will help raise awareness about the importance of lung cancer screenings and potentially save lives. #LungCancerAwareness

I don't get why they gotta make a whole month just for lung cancer awareness. Like, we already know it's a big deal and we should be doing something about it all year round, not just in November 2024. Plus, early detection and treatment should be a priority for all types of cancer, not just lung cancer. This bill is just a band-aid solution to a bigger problem. Who's really gonna benefit from this anyway? People affected by lung cancer are the ones who need real support, not just a designated month.
