Bill 117 HR 7210, also known as the Find and Protect Foster Youth Act, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress with the aim of improving the safety and well-being of foster youth. The bill focuses on addressing the issue of missing foster youth and ensuring that they receive the necessary support and protection.
One of the key provisions of the bill is the establishment of a national hotline for reporting missing foster youth. This hotline would serve as a centralized resource for individuals to report information about missing foster youth, helping to streamline the process of locating and ensuring their safety.
Additionally, the bill includes measures to improve coordination between federal, state, and local agencies in the search for missing foster youth. This would involve the development of protocols and procedures for sharing information and resources to enhance the effectiveness of efforts to locate and protect these vulnerable individuals. Furthermore, the Find and Protect Foster Youth Act seeks to enhance training for child welfare professionals and law enforcement personnel on how to effectively respond to cases involving missing foster youth. This training would focus on recognizing the unique needs and vulnerabilities of foster youth and implementing best practices for ensuring their safety and well-being. Overall, the Find and Protect Foster Youth Act aims to address the challenges faced by foster youth who go missing and to improve the systems in place for locating and protecting them. By enhancing coordination, establishing a national hotline, and providing training for professionals, this bill seeks to better support and safeguard foster youth in the United States.
