Summary of Bill S 184

Bill 119 s 184 is a proposed piece of legislation that aims to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act in order to provide a clear definition of the term "natural cheese." The bill seeks to establish specific criteria that must be met in order for a cheese product to be classified as natural.

The proposed definition of natural cheese would likely include requirements such as the use of only natural ingredients in the cheese-making process, the absence of artificial additives or preservatives, and adherence to traditional cheese-making methods. This definition would help to differentiate natural cheese from processed cheese products that may contain synthetic ingredients or undergo extensive processing.

It would also help to ensure that manufacturers accurately label their cheese products, preventing misleading or deceptive marketing practices. Overall, Bill 119 s 184 seeks to promote the integrity and authenticity of natural cheese products in the marketplace, while also protecting consumers from potentially misleading or harmful practices.
