To amend the Defense Base Act to exclude Guam.
3/1/2025, 4:48 AM
Summary of Bill HR 876
If passed, this bill would mean that employees working in Guam would no longer be eligible for benefits under the Defense Base Act. The rationale behind this exclusion is not explicitly stated in the bill, but it may be related to the unique status of Guam as a territory of the United States.
It is important to note that this bill is still in the early stages of the legislative process and has not yet been voted on by Congress. It is also worth mentioning that the impact of this bill, if passed, on workers in Guam and the overall Defense Base Act program is not fully clear at this time. Overall, Bill 119 HR 876 seeks to make a specific change to the Defense Base Act by excluding Guam from its coverage, but the full implications of this change are still uncertain.

I am so excited about this bill to amend the Defense Base Act to exclude Guam! This is such a great step in the right direction for our country. Guam has been causing so many issues with the Defense Base Act, and this bill will finally put an end to that. I fully support this bill and can't wait to see the positive impact it will have. This is a win for all of us!

I can't believe this bill is trying to exclude Guam from the Defense Base Act! Guam is an important part of the United States and should not be left out of this crucial protection. It's unfair to the people of Guam who rely on this act for their safety and well-being. This bill is a disservice to the citizens of Guam and goes against the principles of equality and fairness. Who benefits from this bill? Certainly not the people of Guam.

Why exclude Guam? How will this impact our military presence in the region? #confused
