Summary of Bill HR 1901

Bill 119 HR 1901, also known as the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Extension Act, aims to make permanent the funding for the Children's Health Insurance Program under title XXI of the Social Security Act. This program provides health insurance coverage for children from low-income families who do not qualify for Medicaid.

The bill seeks to ensure that children have access to affordable and comprehensive health care coverage by extending the CHIP program indefinitely. This would prevent the program from expiring and ensure that children continue to receive the necessary medical care they need.

In addition to making the CHIP program permanent, the bill also includes provisions for other purposes related to children's health care. These provisions may include improving access to preventive care, expanding coverage for essential health services, and addressing disparities in health care access and outcomes among children. Overall, Bill 119 HR 1901 is aimed at ensuring that children from low-income families have access to quality health care coverage through the CHIP program. By making the program permanent, the bill seeks to provide stability and security for children and their families, ensuring that they can continue to receive the care they need to stay healthy and thrive.
