Veterans Homecare Choice Act of 2025
4/4/2025, 7:23 AM
Summary of Bill HR 2268
Bill 119 hr 2268, also known as the "Veterans Community Care Program Enhancement Act," aims to make changes to title 38 of the United States Code in order to improve access to healthcare for veterans. The main focus of the bill is to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to recognize nurse registries as eligible providers under the Veterans Community Care Program.
The Veterans Community Care Program allows veterans to receive healthcare services from non-VA providers if they are unable to access care at a VA facility. By recognizing nurse registries as eligible providers, veterans will have more options for receiving care, especially in areas where VA facilities may be limited or unavailable.
In addition to recognizing nurse registries, the bill also includes provisions for improving the coordination of care for veterans, ensuring that they receive timely and high-quality healthcare services. The bill aims to streamline the process for veterans to access care through the Community Care Program, making it easier for them to receive the care they need. Overall, the "Veterans Community Care Program Enhancement Act" seeks to enhance the healthcare options available to veterans and improve their access to quality care. By recognizing nurse registries as eligible providers and improving care coordination, the bill aims to better serve the healthcare needs of our nation's veterans.
