Summary of Bill HR 2037

Bill 119 HR 2037, also known as the "Open RAN Outreach and Technical Assistance Act," aims to support small providers in understanding and implementing Open RAN networks. Open RAN networks are a new approach to building wireless networks that allow for more flexibility and innovation by using open and interoperable standards.

The bill proposes to provide outreach and technical assistance to small providers to help them navigate the complexities of Open RAN networks. This assistance would include training, resources, and guidance on how to effectively deploy and manage these networks.

The goal of the bill is to promote competition and innovation in the wireless industry by empowering small providers to adopt Open RAN technology. By doing so, it is hoped that consumers will benefit from improved network performance, lower costs, and increased choice in wireless services. Overall, the Open RAN Outreach and Technical Assistance Act seeks to level the playing field for small providers in the wireless industry and promote the adoption of cutting-edge technology that can benefit both providers and consumers.
