Summary of Bill HR 1971
Bill 119 hr 1971, also known as the Adaptive Prostheses for Veterans Act, aims to amend title 38 of the United States Code to ensure that eligible veterans have access to adaptive prostheses and terminal devices for sports and recreational activities through the medical services provided by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
The bill recognizes the importance of adaptive prostheses and terminal devices in helping veterans with disabilities participate in sports and recreational activities, which can have significant physical and mental health benefits. By including these services in the medical care provided to veterans, the bill seeks to improve the overall well-being and quality of life for those who have served our country.
If passed, this legislation would ensure that eligible veterans have access to the necessary equipment and support to engage in activities that promote physical fitness, social interaction, and overall wellness. This bill highlights the importance of supporting our veterans in their rehabilitation and recovery efforts, and acknowledges the value of adaptive technology in enhancing their quality of life.
