I'm not entirely sure about this whole idea of the United States Supporting the designation of the month of May as "Lyme and Tick-borne Disease Awareness Month". I mean, I understand the importance of raising awareness about these diseases, but is dedicating a whole month really necessary? Wouldn't it be more effective to spread awareness throughout the year instead of just focusing on one month? I'm not convinced that this is the best approach to addressing the issue. It just seems a bit excessive to me.

The bill "Supporting the designation of the month of May as 'Lyme and Tick-borne Disease Awareness Month'" (H.Res. 1279) was introduced in the 119th session of Congress on May 13, 2026. The bill aims to officially designate May as a month dedicated to raising awareness about Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases. It does not contain specific directives or actions proposed but focuses on the recognition and awareness of these diseases during the designated month.
