Volodymyr Yelchenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Featured Speaker: Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, MP, Chairperson, Committee on Matters of Integration of Ukraine with the European Union Theme: Why a Free, Stable and Prosperous Ukraine Still Matters Volodymyr Yelchenko is presently the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States. Immediately prior to his present posting, he served as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations. Earlier, Ambassador Yelchenko was Ukraine’s envoy to Russia; he held the post from July 2010 until he was recalled for consultations in March 2014, immediately after the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. Amb. Yelchenko is one of the true veterans of Ukrainian diplomacy, having started his career in foreign service in 1981. Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze is currently Chair of the Committee on Euro-Intergration in the Verkhona Rada of Ukraine; she is a leading member of the European Solidarity fratziya within the said parliament. Immediately prior (2016-2019), Ms. Klympush-Tsintsadze served as Vice-Prime-Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. She won high praise for her efforts while at the post. On Wednesday-Thursday, June 17-18, the Center for US-Ukrainian Relations, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, and the American Foreign Policy Council convened the eighth annual US-UA Working Group Summit: Providing Ukraine with an Annual Report Card. This online conference assessed Ukraine’s progress on various fronts, levying a final grade based on the contributing of over two dozen speakers.
