Virtual Event Celebrating the Independence, Sovereignty and Unity of Ukraine

Український Конґресовий Комітет Америки (УККА) - Відділ у Філядельфії - запрошує всю українську громаду на віртуальне відзначення Актів Незалежности й Злуки, історичних річниць, 22-го січня 1918 і 1919 рp., Бою під Крутами (29-го січня 1918 р.) та на вшанування полеглих воїнів за незалежність, свободу та соборність України. Частина програми відбудется перед пам’ятником полеглих борців за волю України, на українському католицькому цвинтарі св. Марії в Елкінс Парку в Дженкінтавні, Пенсильванії. Програма включатиме урочисту панахиду й поминальну церемонію біля могили Лонгина Цегельського (1875-1950), бувшого державного секретаря (міністра внутрішніх справ) Західноукраїнської Народної Республіки (ЗУНР) та представника уряду ЗУНР в США. Проповідь виголосить Владика Борис Ґудзяк, архиєпископ Філадельфії та митрополит Української Греко-Католицької Церкви в США Записані привітання почесних гостей та високопосадовців включатимуть слова надзвичайного і повноважного посла України в США, Володимира Єльченка The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America – Philadelphia Branch – invites all Ukrainians and Friends of Ukraine to a virtual commemoration of the anniversaries of the Acts of Independence and of Unity, which were issued on the historical dates of January 22, 1918 and 1919, respectively, and of the emblematic Battle of Kruty (Jan. 29, 1918). The Pre-recorded Virtual Program, will include a traditional Ukrainian Memorial Service – Panakhyda – at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the Ukrainian National Republic, at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Elkins Park, PA, and by the grave of Dr. Lonhyn Cehelsky, Ukraine’s first ambassador to the U.S., and the author and presenter of the Act of Union - Aky Zluky. The Most Reverend Metropolitan-Archbishop Borys Gudziak of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church will deliver the sermon Greetings and words of commemoration by His Excellency, Volodymyr Yelchenko, Ambassador of Ukraine in the USA, and other distinguished guests and dignitaries. Let us all gather to remember, to show our respect and to pray… This video includes a recorded performance of the song “Prayer,” performed by Yuliya Stupen, music by Hennady Tatarchenko and words by Vadym Kryshchenko The organizers are grateful to the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America for the use of additional recorded music, including their version of the funerary hymn Vichnaya Pamyat' - Memory Eternal.
