This week's MD-08 Local Heroes are Montgomery Blair HS 10th graders Mira Sylvan, Eleanor Hoffmann and Dylan Ward and their teacher-advisor, Zack Wilson. These three talented students won Third Place in the High School Eastern Division of the 2026 C-SPAN StudentCam documentary competition. Their feature, entitled "The Human Cost of the Bureaucracy Chainsaw," provides a compelling account of the Trump Administration’s demolition of the civil service and the savage attacks that took place against thousands of dedicated federal workers.
