Video Description
This hearing is the second in a series of hearings the Subcommittee is holding related to our relationship with China and its use of intellectual property. The focus of the hearing will be on the Biden Administration’s decision to support a limited waiver of certain IP obligations under the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to increase access to the COVID vaccine in developing countries. The Administration is currently studying an expansion of this waiver to include therapeutics and diagnostics.
