House Budget Committee Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen squares off with Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) on June 3, 2011 regarding his plan, which passed the GOP controlled House of Representatives, to end Medicare. The proposal would terminate the Medicare guarantee for seniors but would protect taxpayer subsidies for big oil companies.
