Once again, Republicans are spending a lot of time talking about COVID relief – but their latest bill contains no new aid for state and local governments. We’ve seen this happen before. After the Great Recession, the slow recovery of state & local government spending delayed the return to pre-crisis levels of unemployment by 4 years. We can’t let that happen with the coronavirus recovery.
