Bus Rolling Stock Modernization Act of 2025

3/13/2025, 5:33 PM

Summary of Bill S 660

Bill 119 s 660, also known as the "Limitations on Advanced Payments for Bus Rolling Stock Act," aims to establish restrictions on the advanced payments made for bus rolling stock purchases. The bill seeks to prevent excessive or unnecessary advanced payments that may put taxpayer funds at risk.

Under this legislation, bus rolling stock manufacturers and suppliers would be required to adhere to specific guidelines when receiving advanced payments for their products. These guidelines would ensure that payments are made in a responsible and transparent manner, with appropriate safeguards in place to protect against potential misuse of funds.

Additionally, the bill includes provisions for oversight and accountability measures to ensure that advanced payments are used for their intended purpose and that taxpayers are not left footing the bill for incomplete or substandard bus rolling stock purchases. Overall, Bill 119 s 660 aims to promote fiscal responsibility and accountability in the procurement of bus rolling stock, ultimately benefiting both taxpayers and the public transportation system as a whole.
