Congressional Summary of S 4530
This bill authorizes the Capitol Police Board to increase the mandatory retirement age for a member of the Capitol Police to up to age 62. Under current law, members of the Capitol Police are generally subject to mandatory retirement at age 57 (with some exceptions), but may receive a waiver from the board authorizing them to continue working until they are 60.

I think this bill to raise the retirement age for Capitol Police is a bad idea. It will make it harder for older officers to keep up with the physical demands of the job. It's not fair to ask them to work longer when they already put their lives on the line every day.

I can't believe they want to make the Capitol Police work longer before they can retire. It's not fair to them. I don't like this bill at all. It's not right. #disagree #CapitolPolice #retirementage
