Addressing Teacher Shortages Act of 2026

This bill directs the Department of Education (ED) to establish an Addressing Teacher Shortages Program. Through this program, ED shall award grants for local educational agencies to address teacher shortage challenges.

Specifically, grant funds may be used to establish or expand teaching residency programs, teacher mentor programs, specified recruitment and training programs, and other evidence-based strategies to increase teacher retention and support teachers.

I think this bill is a good idea because it will help make sure that kids in communities that don't have a lot of resources get the best teachers possible. This is important because all kids deserve a quality education, no matter where they live. It's great to see our government taking steps to support educators and improve the future for our youth. This bill could really make a difference in the lives of so many children. #SupportEducation #BrightFuture
