Summary of Bill S 284
Bill 119 s 284, also known as the Congressional Award Act, is a piece of legislation that aims to reauthorize the Congressional Award program. This program was established in 1979 and is a public-private partnership that encourages and recognizes initiative, service, and achievement in young people.
The bill seeks to continue funding and support for the Congressional Award program, which allows young Americans between the ages of 14 and 23 to set and achieve goals in four areas: voluntary public service, personal development, physical fitness, and expedition/exploration. Participants in the program earn bronze, silver, and gold medals based on the number of hours they dedicate to each area.

Overall, Bill 119 s 284 is a bipartisan effort to support and promote the Congressional Award program, which has a proven track record of empowering and inspiring young people across the United States.
