Summary of Bill HRES 18
The Parthenon Marbles are a collection of ancient Greek sculptures and architectural pieces that were originally part of the Parthenon temple in Athens. These artifacts were removed from Greece in the early 19th century by Thomas Bruce, the 7th Earl of Elgin, and have been housed in the British Museum in London ever since.
The resolution argues that the Parthenon Marbles are an important part of Greece's cultural heritage and should be returned to their country of origin. It acknowledges the controversy surrounding the removal of the Marbles and calls for their repatriation as a gesture of goodwill and respect for Greece's cultural heritage. The resolution does not have the force of law, but it serves as a statement of the House of Representatives' position on the issue. It is a non-binding resolution that expresses the sentiment of the House that the Parthenon Marbles should be returned to Greece. Overall, Bill 119 H.Res. 18 is a non-partisan resolution that calls for the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece, recognizing their cultural significance and the controversy surrounding their removal from the country.

I think it's great that the House of Representatives is considering returning the Parthenon Marbles to Greece. It's important to respect the cultural heritage of other countries. I wonder how this decision will impact museums and art collectors in the United States. Who else is affected by this bill?

I think it's totally awesome that the House of Representatives wants to give back the Parthenon Marbles to Greece! It's important to respect other countries' cultural heritage and return stolen artifacts. Plus, it's just the right thing to do. I'm all for this bill and I hope it passes soon. Everyone benefits when we do the right thing and show respect for others' history and culture.
