Summary of Bill HR 7667
Congressional Summary of HR 7667
TRICARE Fairness for National Guard and Reserve Retirees Act
This bill aligns eligibility for TRICARE health coverage with the age at which personnel of the Retired Reserve (former National Guard and Reserve members) begin receiving retired pay. Specifically, personnel of the Retired Reserve who are not yet age 60 but are receiving their retirement pay may purchase TRICARE health coverage for retired military personnel, rather than the presently allowed TRICARE Retired Reserve.
Under current law, Reserve Component personnel may retire below age 60, but not below 50, based on active duty performance.

Why does this bill have to do with me? I don't get it. It seems like just another way for the government to mess things up. #confused

This bill is a total disaster! It's gonna mess up everything for us retirees. It's not fair that they're changing the rules on us like this. Why should we have to pay more for our healthcare just because we served in the National Guard or Reserve? It's gonna hurt our wallets big time. I don't know how I'm gonna afford this. This bill is gonna make life harder for us retirees in the short term.
