Summary of Bill HR 285
Bill 119 HR 285, also known as the Joint Operations Centers along the southern border of the United States Act, aims to establish Joint Operations Centers (JOCs) along the southern border to enhance coordination and communication between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. The bill also seeks to improve information sharing and intelligence gathering to combat illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities along the border.
The JOCs will serve as hubs for collaboration and coordination among various agencies, including Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Border Patrol, and local law enforcement. These centers will work together to identify and address security threats, share resources and intelligence, and develop strategies to enhance border security.
In addition to establishing the JOCs, the bill includes provisions for increased technology and infrastructure along the southern border, such as surveillance equipment, fencing, and other resources to support border security efforts. The bill also allocates funding for training and support for law enforcement personnel working in the JOCs. Overall, Bill 119 HR 285 aims to strengthen border security and improve coordination among law enforcement agencies to better protect the southern border of the United States.
