Telehealth Access for Tribal Communities Act of 2025
4/18/2025, 8:05 AM
Summary of Bill HR 2639
Bill 119 hr 2639, also known as the "Indian Health Programs Telehealth Enhancement Act," aims to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to make certain telehealth flexibilities under the Medicare program permanent for telehealth services provided by Indian health programs.
The bill specifically focuses on expanding access to telehealth services for Native American communities by allowing Indian health programs to continue offering telehealth services through Medicare. This would ensure that individuals in these communities have access to necessary healthcare services, even if they are unable to physically visit a healthcare facility.
By making these telehealth flexibilities permanent, the bill seeks to address the barriers to healthcare access faced by Native American communities, such as geographic isolation and limited resources. This would ultimately improve health outcomes and quality of life for individuals in these communities. Overall, the Indian Health Programs Telehealth Enhancement Act is a step towards ensuring equitable access to healthcare for Native American communities and promoting the use of telehealth services as a means of delivering quality healthcare services.

This bill is so dumb, it's gonna make things worse for us. Why do they think this is gonna help? It's just gonna mess everything up. I don't see how this is gonna benefit anyone, especially not me. This is just a waste of time and money.
