Summary of Bill HR 2259

Bill 119 HR 2259, also known as the National Strategy for School Security Act of 2025, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress with the aim of enhancing the safety and security of schools across the country. The bill proposes the development of a comprehensive national strategy for school security, which would involve collaboration between federal, state, and local authorities, as well as input from education and law enforcement professionals.

The key provisions of the bill include the establishment of a National School Security Task Force, which would be responsible for conducting a thorough assessment of current school security measures and identifying areas for improvement. The task force would also be tasked with developing best practices and guidelines for enhancing school security, as well as providing training and resources to schools to help them implement these measures.

Additionally, the bill calls for the creation of a National School Security Database, which would serve as a centralized repository of information on school security incidents, trends, and best practices. This database would help policymakers and school administrators make informed decisions about how to best protect students and staff. Overall, the National Strategy for School Security Act of 2025 aims to address the growing concern over school safety and provide a framework for improving security measures in schools nationwide. By promoting collaboration and information sharing between various stakeholders, the bill seeks to create a safer and more secure learning environment for all students.

I don't think this bill is a good idea. It seems like it could cause more problems than it solves. I'm not sure how it will actually make schools safer.
