Summary of Bill HR 2048

Bill 119 hr 2048, also known as the Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act, aims to make important changes to the Social Security Act in order to provide faster access to disability insurance benefits and Medicare coverage for individuals diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.

Currently, individuals with metastatic breast cancer must wait a certain period of time before they are eligible to receive disability insurance benefits and Medicare coverage. This waiting period can be burdensome for those who are already dealing with the physical, emotional, and financial challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

The proposed bill seeks to eliminate these waiting periods, allowing individuals with metastatic breast cancer to access the benefits and coverage they need more quickly. This change would provide much-needed support to those facing the high costs of cancer treatment and care. In addition to eliminating waiting periods, the bill also includes provisions for other purposes related to improving access to care for individuals with metastatic breast cancer. These provisions aim to address various aspects of care, such as ensuring access to necessary treatments and services. Overall, Bill 119 hr 2048 represents an important step towards improving the lives of individuals with metastatic breast cancer by removing barriers to essential benefits and coverage. It is a crucial piece of legislation that has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by this devastating disease.
