I don't think awarding a Congressional Gold Medal to Jimmy Carter posthumously is a good idea. It sets a precedent for honoring former presidents in this way, which could lead to unnecessary expenses and distractions from more pressing issues. This bill affects all taxpayers who would ultimately foot the bill for this honor.
