Dennis and Lois Krisfalusy Act

Summary of Bill HR 1344
Bill 119 hr 1344, also known as the "Veterans Burial Benefits Expansion Act," aims to amend title 38 of the United States Code to broaden the eligibility criteria for headstones, markers, and burial receptacles provided by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The proposed amendment would extend these benefits to certain individuals who passed away before November 11, 1998.
Currently, the laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs only provide these burial benefits to veterans who died on or after November 11, 1998. However, this bill seeks to recognize and honor the service of veterans who passed away prior to this date by allowing their families to receive headstones, markers, and burial receptacles through the VA.
By expanding eligibility for these burial benefits, the bill aims to ensure that all veterans, regardless of when they served, are properly honored and remembered for their service to our country. This legislation is a bipartisan effort to show appreciation for the sacrifices made by all veterans and their families.
