Summary of Bill HR 1121
Bill 119 HR 1121, also known as the DeepSeek Prohibition Act, aims to prevent executive agencies from utilizing the DeepSeek technology for any purpose. DeepSeek is a controversial tool that allows for deep and extensive data mining and surveillance of individuals and organizations.
The bill states that the use of DeepSeek by executive agencies poses a threat to privacy and civil liberties, as it allows for the collection of vast amounts of personal information without proper oversight or accountability. The bill also argues that the use of DeepSeek could potentially be used for discriminatory or unethical purposes.
If passed, the DeepSeek Prohibition Act would prohibit all executive agencies from using DeepSeek technology in any capacity. This would include both the acquisition and use of DeepSeek software, as well as any data collected through its use. Supporters of the bill argue that it is necessary to protect the privacy and rights of individuals from government overreach. However, opponents of the bill argue that DeepSeek technology can be a valuable tool for national security and law enforcement purposes. Overall, the DeepSeek Prohibition Act is a contentious piece of legislation that raises important questions about the balance between security and privacy in the digital age.
