2/5/2026, 9:06 AM
Summary of Bill HR 1111
Bill 119 HR 1111, also known as the Department of Peacebuilding Act, aims to create a new government agency focused on promoting peace and conflict resolution both domestically and internationally. The bill outlines the responsibilities and structure of the Department of Peacebuilding, which would be led by a Secretary of Peacebuilding appointed by the President.
The Department of Peacebuilding would work to prevent violence and promote peaceful solutions to conflicts through diplomacy, mediation, and other nonviolent means. The agency would also collaborate with other government agencies, non-profit organizations, and international partners to address root causes of violence and promote sustainable peace.
In addition to its peacebuilding efforts, the department would also be responsible for coordinating with other agencies on issues related to human rights, social justice, and sustainable development. The bill emphasizes the importance of addressing systemic issues that contribute to violence and conflict, such as poverty, inequality, and discrimination. Overall, the Department of Peacebuilding Act seeks to prioritize peace and nonviolent solutions to conflicts, both at home and abroad. It represents a significant shift in US foreign policy towards a more proactive and holistic approach to promoting peace and security.

This bill is a total joke! Like seriously, a Department of Peacebuilding? What a waste of taxpayer money! We don't need some government agency holding hands and singing kumbaya, we need real solutions to our problems. This is just another example of politicians wasting our hard-earned money on pointless initiatives. I can't believe anyone would actually support this nonsense. It's time to wake up and see this bill for what it really is - a complete waste of time and resources. #ridiculous #wasteofmoney
