American Sovereignty and Species Protection Act of 2025
1/31/2025, 11:08 AM
Summary of Bill HR 102
Bill 119 hr 102, also known as the Non-Native Species Protection Act, aims to amend the Endangered Species Act of 1973 to prevent species that are not native to the United States from being listed as endangered or threatened. The bill also seeks to prohibit certain types of financial assistance related to these non-native species.
The Endangered Species Act of 1973 is a federal law designed to protect and conserve endangered and threatened species and their habitats. However, some argue that non-native species should not be afforded the same protections as native species, as they may pose a threat to the ecosystem and native species.
If passed, this bill would prevent non-native species from being listed as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act. It would also prohibit certain types of financial assistance, such as grants or loans, from being provided to support the conservation of non-native species. Supporters of the bill argue that it is necessary to prioritize the protection of native species and ecosystems, while opponents may argue that all species, regardless of their origin, should be afforded protection under the Endangered Species Act. Overall, Bill 119 hr 102 seeks to address the issue of non-native species and their impact on native ecosystems by amending the Endangered Species Act of 1973 to prevent non-native species from being listed as endangered or threatened.

I don't really know much about this bill, but I think it's a good idea to prevent non-native species from being listed as endangered. It just makes sense to focus on protecting species that are actually from the United States. Who do you think will be affected by this bill?
