12/19/2024, 4:53 AM
Summary of Bill S 5386
Bill 118 s 5386, also known as the Urban Flooding Mapping Pilot Program Act, aims to improve the mapping of urban flooding and property damage caused by such flooding. The bill requires the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to conduct a pilot program to enhance the mapping of urban flooding and make this data readily available to homeowners, businesses, and local governments.
The primary goal of the pilot program is to help individuals and communities better understand and mitigate the risks associated with urban flooding. By providing accurate and up-to-date mapping data, homeowners and businesses can take proactive measures to protect their properties and reduce the impact of flooding events.
The bill emphasizes the importance of collaboration between FEMA, local governments, and other stakeholders in developing and implementing the pilot program. It also highlights the need for transparency and accessibility of the mapped data to ensure that it is easily understandable and usable by those who need it most. Overall, the Urban Flooding Mapping Pilot Program Act seeks to address the growing threat of urban flooding and empower individuals and communities to effectively manage and mitigate the risks associated with this type of natural disaster.

I don't like this bill. It's gonna cost too much money and I don't think it's gonna help at all. They should focus on other things instead of wasting time on this. #notafan
