1/14/2025, 7:03 PM

Summary of Bill S 5302

Bill 118 s 5302, also known as the Federal Advisory Committee Act Amendments of 2021, aims to make changes to title 5 of the United States Code in order to clarify and enhance the responsibilities of the Administrator of General Services in relation to Federal advisory committees.

The bill seeks to improve transparency and accountability in the operation of these committees by requiring the Administrator to establish and maintain a centralized database of all Federal advisory committees. This database would include information on the purpose, membership, and activities of each committee, as well as any reports or recommendations they produce.

Additionally, the bill would require the Administrator to conduct regular reviews of Federal advisory committees to ensure they are operating effectively and in accordance with the law. The Administrator would also be required to provide training and guidance to committee members on their roles and responsibilities. Overall, the goal of Bill 118 s 5302 is to strengthen the oversight and management of Federal advisory committees in order to ensure they are serving their intended purpose of providing independent advice and recommendations to the federal government.
