Summary of Bill S 3118

Bill 118 s 3118, also known as the HCBS Relief Act of 2023, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The bill aims to provide relief to individuals who receive Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) through Medicaid.

The HCBS Relief Act of 2023 proposes several key provisions. First, it seeks to increase federal funding for HCBS programs, which provide essential services to individuals with disabilities and older adults who wish to remain in their homes and communities rather than in institutional settings. This increased funding would help to address the growing demand for HCBS services and ensure that individuals receive the care and support they need.

Additionally, the bill includes measures to improve the quality of HCBS services and enhance the workforce that provides these services. This includes increasing training and support for HCBS workers, as well as implementing measures to ensure that individuals receiving HCBS services are able to access high-quality care that meets their needs. Overall, the HCBS Relief Act of 2023 aims to strengthen and expand HCBS programs to better support individuals with disabilities and older adults in their desire to live independently in their communities. The bill is currently under consideration in Congress, and its passage would have a significant impact on the lives of those who rely on HCBS services for their care and support.
