Summary of Bill S 2148
The LIFT Act, also known as Bill 118 s 2148, is a piece of legislation introduced in the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to provide tax relief for working and middle-class families by expanding tax credits and deductions.
One of the key provisions of the LIFT Act is the expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for low-income workers. This credit provides a financial boost to individuals and families who are working but earning low wages. The bill also aims to increase the Child Tax Credit, which provides financial assistance to families with children.
Additionally, the LIFT Act includes provisions to make the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit more generous, helping families cover the costs of child care. The bill also seeks to simplify the tax filing process for individuals and families by making it easier to claim these credits and deductions. Overall, the LIFT Act is designed to provide much-needed tax relief to working and middle-class families, helping them keep more of their hard-earned money. The bill has garnered bipartisan support in Congress and is currently under consideration for passage.
