Summary of Bill S 1775
The TRACKS Act, also known as Bill 118 s 1775, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The purpose of this bill is to improve the safety and efficiency of railroad crossings across the country.
The TRACKS Act aims to achieve this goal by providing funding for the installation of new safety measures at railroad crossings, such as lights, gates, and warning signals. Additionally, the bill seeks to improve the maintenance of existing railroad crossings to ensure that they are in good working condition.
One of the key provisions of the TRACKS Act is the establishment of a grant program to assist states and local governments in implementing these safety measures. This program would provide funding to help cover the costs of installing new safety equipment and maintaining existing infrastructure. Overall, the TRACKS Act is designed to address the issue of railroad crossing safety in a comprehensive and proactive manner. By providing funding and support for safety improvements, this bill has the potential to save lives and prevent accidents at railroad crossings across the country.
