Summary of Bill S 134
The Alzheimer's Accountability and Investment Act, also known as Bill 118 s 134, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main goal of this bill is to increase funding and resources for research and treatment of Alzheimer's disease, which is a growing public health concern in the United States.
If passed, the bill would require the Department of Health and Human Services to develop and implement a national plan to address Alzheimer's disease. This plan would include goals for preventing and treating the disease, as well as strategies for improving care and support for individuals with Alzheimer's and their families.
Additionally, the bill would establish a National Alzheimer's Project Office within the Department of Health and Human Services to coordinate federal efforts related to Alzheimer's disease. This office would be responsible for tracking progress on the national plan, as well as coordinating research and funding opportunities. Overall, the Alzheimer's Accountability and Investment Act aims to increase awareness and resources for Alzheimer's disease, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected by the disease.
