Summary of Bill S 1313
Bill 118 s 1313, also known as the Recruiting Families Using Data Act of 2023, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main goal of this bill is to improve the recruitment of foster and adoptive families by utilizing data and technology.
The bill proposes the establishment of a national database that would collect and analyze data on children in the foster care system, as well as potential foster and adoptive families. This database would help match children in need of homes with suitable families more efficiently and effectively.
Additionally, the bill aims to increase transparency and accountability in the foster care system by requiring states to report data on the recruitment and retention of foster and adoptive families. This information would be used to identify areas in need of improvement and to track the progress of recruitment efforts over time. Overall, the Recruiting Families Using Data Act of 2023 seeks to leverage data and technology to streamline the process of finding safe and loving homes for children in the foster care system. By improving recruitment practices and increasing transparency, this bill has the potential to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children across the country.
