Summary of Bill S 1154
Specifically, the bill calls for the establishment of a Women in Aviation Advisory Board within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to provide guidance and recommendations on how to increase the participation of women in aviation. The board would be composed of industry experts, educators, and other stakeholders who would work together to develop strategies for recruiting and retaining women in aviation-related fields.
Additionally, the bill directs the FAA to conduct a study on the representation of women in the aviation industry and to identify barriers that may be preventing women from entering or advancing in the field. The findings of this study would then be used to inform future policies and initiatives aimed at promoting gender diversity in aviation. Overall, the Promoting Women in Aviation Act is a bipartisan effort to address the underrepresentation of women in the aviation industry and to create more opportunities for women to succeed in this field. By supporting education, training, and mentorship programs, the bill aims to empower women to pursue careers in aviation and to help close the gender gap in this important industry.
