The PREP for All Students Act, also known as Bill 118 s 1072, is a piece of legislation currently being considered by the US Congress. The main goal of this bill is to ensure that all students have access to comprehensive sexual health education in schools.
The bill mandates that all schools receiving federal funding must provide age-appropriate and medically accurate sexual health education to students. This education must cover a wide range of topics, including consent, healthy relationships, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and LGBTQ+ issues.
Additionally, the PREP for All Students Act requires that this education be inclusive and culturally competent, taking into account the diverse backgrounds and experiences of students. Schools must also provide resources and support for students who have experienced sexual violence or harassment. Overall, the goal of this legislation is to ensure that all students have the information and resources they need to make informed decisions about their sexual health. By providing comprehensive sexual health education, the PREP for All Students Act aims to promote healthy relationships, reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections, and prevent unintended pregnancies among young people.
